Working with asbestos on a daily basis means we strive to be at the forefront of Health and Safety. We have recently been working with CleanSpace Technology to trial their ‘P3/TM3’ asbestos RPE (respiratory protective equipment). It is the world’s smallest powered air purifying respirator with full face mask.

These revolutionary masks are equipped with alarms for filter changes and battery charges. They are also smaller and more lightweight than previous full face masks, ensuring the working environment is as comfortable as possible for our operatives.

CleanSpace respirators are sold in over 20 countries around the world where their vision is to make respiratory protection wearable and easy to use.

Asbestos RPE (Respiratory Protective Equipment)

Wearing the right personal protective equipment, including suitable asbestos RPE, is essential to protect your health when working with asbestos. Ordinary dust masks are not effective in preventing the inhalation of asbestos fibres and dust. It is essential to wear the RPE all the time until the worker is away from the contaminated air. The mask restricts what the wearer can do and can be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. At NIC our employees are working with asbestos on a daily basis so it is essential that the asbestos mask they wear is well fitted and comfortable to enable them to work safely and efficiently. Lower cost or disposable Asbestos RPE can be suitable for occasional use on smaller projects but has limitations.
